Particularly interesting was that the co-author of the study was a woman–Dr. Claudia Wolf–who took on the study in part because of the he number of chauvinistic comments she encountered about women drivers.

While I normally find studies of this nature to be pointless, the fact that it (probably) didn’t cost US Taxpayers anything, combined with the fact that it proves something I’ve long suspected but never been able to convince my wife of means I’m all in favor of it this time.

Based on a huge sample of 26 men and 20 women in Munich, Germany, Todd & crew had the group engage in speed dating sessions, recording what they would be interested in before the sessions, and comparing who they actually chose to ask for second dates to those interests.  Not surprisingly, men tended to ignore what traits they said they were looking for, and asked the hot girls for a second date.

Let’s see, weak sample size limited to one geographic region and incredibly flawed technique of gathering data (nothing like spending 3-7 minutes with someone to decide if you’d like to try to get in their pants) to scientifically determine something that could just as conclusively be be determined by going to the local campus bar on Friday night?

Are we sure that this study wasn’t somehow concocted to keep some of their basketball team eligible this year?
