Also reminded us that someone recently sent us a link to a YouTube video of a University of Houston receiver running full speed into a cart beyond the end zone, suffering a compound fracture of his leg. I’m going to go out on a limb…and say that those carts won’t be there any more.

As usual, the links above go to some pretty nasty videos/pictures–don’t say we didn’t warn you.

If you’re one of the loyal Manlyweb readers (you lucky few), you probably already know that we have a Sports Injury section of the site, which we try to update with some regularity. Well, we thought we’d pass along the latest update–Richard Zednick, who plays for the Florida Panthers (hoc-key?), had his neck sliced last night during their game in Buffalo.

Fortunately Zednik is apparently in stable condition (if he wasn’t, I’m not sure we’d even be crass enough to put up the video), and the video isn’t nearly as graphic as the Clint Malarchuk neck injury. But still, not good times.

Well, we actually got back from Vegas Tuesday night. We were going to blog while we were there, but we didn’t get around to getting the computer out. And we were going to blog when we got back, but…well…we didn’t right away. Tough.

The trip went well–won some money in the sports book, won even more at the tables, and didn’t get arrested. Unfortunately, we missed the ‘Pole-a-Palooza’ at The Mirage on Tuesday night. Next time, better planning.

Some quick reviews:

Stayed at the Golden Nugget downtown. It was nice. Not great. Not as good as last time, but nice enough.

Favorite hotel & casino? Still Wynn Las Vegas. Sat at a blackjack table for 14 hours on Sunday. Other than a couple of annoying coked out Paris Hilton wannabes right away in the morning, it was another wonderful experience–great players, great dealers, great floor people, great cocktail waitresses.

Binion’s Original Coffeehouse–it’s not the fanciest in Vegas, but after the flight, and after 14 hours of drinking whiskey while playing blackjack, it hit the spot.

Hennessey’s Tavern downtown (same block as the neon mueseum)–dumb promotion with the World’s Largest Pint, but a good sandwich.

Voodoo Lounge at the Rio–still the greatest view in Vegas, but the whole place has kind of turned to crap since they started targeting the same market as The Palms. What used to be a nice lounge with a too loud bar now is all uncomfortable couches and $12 crappy drinks.

We weren’t all that thrilled with how the latest Manlyweb News section turned out–that’s what happen when we rely on ourselves to code this stuff–so we finally paid someone to help us design an actual blog again. Unlike our last blog, which we lost when we melted down another server at our 4th or 5th hosting company, this time we’re just going to feature our own content, rather than bringing in content from places like Fark and Milk & Cookies. We ended up deleting a lot of their crap anyway.

If you’re interested in looking through the way back archives, here’s our first News section–amazingly enough, that was done before blogging was <strike>cool</strike> <strike>socially acceptable</strike> the scourge of the Internet. Another in the long line of projects that if we had continued to develop the tool in a garage somewhere rather than going to the bar probably would have led to us retiring on the beach by now.
