Because, you know, apparently there he might be able to see them…oh, wait, that’s right–it was a strip club!

The man had entered stall #7 (personally, I’d never go to a club with stalls), and climbed into the ceiling through panels.  His plan failed when his legs fell through the glass ceiling above one of the dancers (that’s right, they have glass ceilings).

Damages were severe enough that the club, normally open 24 hours a day, had to temporarily shut down.

Greece also managed to hit a parked car, and back into a squad car during the pursuit, and also drove with his lights off trying to evade arrest.

In addition to the 56 traffic tickets, he has been charged with driving while intoxicated, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing police, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Amazingly, 29-year old James Joseph Cialella Jr. then proceeded to sit back down (as the rest of the theater emptied out), and continued watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button until police arrived and arrested him.

Certainly not the approach that I would have taken, but given that he only shot him in the arm, if it convinces people in theaters to think “Hmmm, if I’m talking too loudly or on my cell, one of these guys might be crazy enough to shoot me” and shuts them up, it may not be an all bad thing…

Perhaps the funniest part of the story?  In Hollywood, even the police get celebrity spokespeople:

“Jason Lee, a police spokesman, said no one was injured in either incident.”

Nice to know he’s already got a side gig lined up for when Earl goes off the air.

Also to the right is an image of Kumari Fulbright, after she was arrested and was indicted with three men Dec. 18, 2007, by a Pima County Superior Court grand jury on charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated robbery and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

They are the same Kumari Fulbright.  Just a classic case of boy meets girl, boy dates girl, boy and girl break up, girl suspects boy of stealing jewelry from another ex-boyfriend so enlists said ex-boyfriend and his brother and another friend to kidnap, hold at gunpoint, rob, and even bite boy.

1) The piece of “artwork”, valued at 2 million Euros (which is somehow damn near $3 million US dollars), was a pure white canvas.  Not a Mona Lisa, not a Starry Night, not even a Dogs Playing Poker–just a pure white canvas.  Excuse me while I run to Home Depot to get a gallon of pure white–I promise I’ll sell my “artwork”for less than $10,000 a pop.

2) The vandal, Cambodian-born artist Rindy Sam, told the court “ “I just gave it a kiss. It was an act of love, when I kissed it, I wasn’t thinking. I thought the artist would understand.”

Then, to distance herself from drunken vandals who recently broken into another French museum and punched a hole in a Monet painting, she released this statement:

“On the one hand you have a revoltingly bestial act of cruelty, on the other a pure, intense act of love. Rindy’s gesture was an artistic act provoked by the power of art.”

That’s right, she’s apparently referring to herself in the third person.

3) Meanwhile, the prosecution demanded a 4,500 euro ($6,300) fine, with the lawyer for the plaintiffs claiming  “I expect compensation for my clients, the artist Cy Twombly whose work has been altered, the Lambert collection whose exhibition was ruined by this business and Mr. Lambert, owner of the work vandalised by Miss Rindy Sam.”

Apparently, artists are entitled to compensation even AFTER they sell their work–yet another reason for me to get back to the finger painting I loved as a child.  After all, it appears as though that’s pretty much what this Twombly guy does.
