Japanese Invent Smart Beer Glass

A Japanese electronics company has invented a smart beer glass that will automatically send a signal to servers when in need of a refill. The iGlassware system works by coating each glass with a clear, conducting material, enabling it to measure exactly how much liquid has been sipped or guzzled, and send an electronic signal to hand held computers carried by waitresses (or waiters).
 
Bond 20 Named: 'Die Another Day'

The next James Bond film, the 20th overall and Pierce Brosnan's 4th as Agent 007, will be named "Die Another Day" MGM Studios announced Tuesday. The film also stars Halle Berry and Rick Yune, and is being directed by Lee Tamahori. November 22nd, 2002 is the scheduled release date.
 
Madden Joins Monday Night Football Crew

John Madden, one of the most famous NFL television announcers in the history of the league, has agreed to leave FOX Sports to join Al Michaels in the broadcast booth for Monday Night Football. Madden, who's braodcast partner of 20 years Pat Summerall announced his retirement before the Super Bowl, will replace both Dan Fouts and Dennis Miller.
 
Bond 20 Begins Filming in London

Filming started Monday, January 14th for 'Bond 20', the as of yet unnamed 20th official installment of the James Bond series. Pierce Brosnan returns for his fourth Bond film, and is joined by Rosamund Pike, Halle Barry, Rick Yune and Toby Stephens. The film may be Brosnan's last go around as Agent 007, although he hasn't ruled out returning for a fifth time. More than half the world's population has seen a Bond movie, and they used to be compulsory viewing for Soviet KGB agents fascinated by Bond's killer gadgets.
 
Ford Unveils GT40 Concept Car

American automaker Ford Motor Company introduced the GT40 on Sunday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The GT40 is a "reissue of the car that put Ford on top of the International racing scene," according to J Mays, Ford's vice president of design, featuring a 5.4-liter, V8 engine with a six-speed, manual transmission and more than 500 horsepower. The GT40 concept is part of the troubled automaker's "product-led transformation," which will include 20 new products each year for several years. Also introduced Sunday was the F-350 TONKA, based on the popular toy line from the 1950s and 1960s.
