Jeff Garcia was in position to take over as starting QB for the Detroit Lions in 2005 when in the fourth and final preseason game, he took off running on a play and his foot caught the turf, breaking his fibula.

Garcia returned and claimed the starting spot about six weeks later, but struggled (as most Lions QBs have, lately). |
