Willis
McGahee was at the top of the world--the star running back on
the top ranked team in the nation, playing in the national championship
game. Early in the 4th quarter, things took a turn for the worse,
when his knee took a turn in the wrong direction.
WARNING:
The YouTube clip below is not pleasant to watch.
McGahee
tore his ACL and MCL on the play, and the 'Canes went on to lose
the game (albeit in a controversial manner).
Already
expected to leave after his junior year, McGahee declared for
the NFL draft even after the injury, and was still selected late
in the first round, although he did not play in his first season
due to the injury.
