Tyrone
Prothro was a promising young wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson
Tide, including an amazing catch against Southern Mississippi
that won a 2006 ESPY, and had 141 yards of offense against Florida
just three weeks later. Unfortunately, late in that game, Prothro
would go up for a touchdown pass, get hit in the air (drawing
a flag), and come down at an awkward angle and snap his lower
leg.
Amazingly,
doctors do expect that he will be able to return to the field,
although he may not make it for the 2006 season.
